Love can make people do
crazy things and hitmen are no exception. A hitman falling in love with his
target is the makings of a romance novel. In July of 2011, Carlos Roberto
de Jesus a Brazilian hitman did just that. He was paid by a jealous wife to kill Iranildes Aguiar
Araujo, the husband’s alleged mistress. Fortunately for Iranildes once Carlos laid
eyes on her, it was love at first sight and the last thing on his mind was
murder. Well, Iranildes returned his feelings and passion was in the air.
Unfortunately,
Carlos still had a job to do. So he formulated a clever plan. Using a little
ketchup, a gag, and a knife placed near her armpit, they snapped a fake death
photo of Iranildes. Later when the wife
discovered she’d been duped, she went to the cops. Yep, the cops. Of course, she
claimed Carlos had stolen money and tried to get him arrested. Well, in the end
the murder scheme was discovered and all three were arrested. Did the hitman
find true love or just put an end to his thriving career?
Readers: My
bigger question is could you fall in love with a man—a sexy man— who made
murder a business? Is this an example of being Wildly in Love or Just Plain
Crazy?
Oh, that's a fun story. Hmmm. I think they all got what they deserved, except for the husband. He should have been thrown in jail for cheating. Ha ha. And no to falling in love with a man who murdered for business. I'd have to be on my best behavior all of the time, or never sleep at night, for fear of being bumped off.
ReplyDeleteHi Robena,
DeleteSo true. It would be like the marriage in the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Thanks for stopping by.
Oh my gosh! That's crazy! They say love will drive people to do insane things. Ketchup? Come on! That's so amateur. LOL And nope, I don't think I could fall in love with a man who made murder business. Although... Did you ever watch Dexter, JL? I totally rooted for him.
ReplyDeleteRobin, I have never watched Dexter, but I hear it's a crazy good show. Thanks for commenting.
ReplyDeleteHi JL!
ReplyDeleteWhat a story. They say truth is stranger than fiction and it's totally true. In fiction, the readers would have taken an author to task for not staging a more realistic death photo!
In fiction, I fall for the hitman all the time, in movies and books like the Bourne series, (and Blue Horizon). In reality, I think I'd have a hard time compartmentalizing his job.
Hi Samanthe,
ReplyDeleteThe nice thing about fiction is it allows us to be daring without the consequences. Thanks for stopping by.
Hi J.L.- Well I rather like watching movies and reading books about hit men, like Killers and Mr and Mrs. Smith (Brad Pitt) but in real life, I like to keep things far less exciting!!
ReplyDeleteHi Charlene,
DeleteI love dangerous men in books too. In real life I just want him to cook dinner:) Thanks for commenting
